Do you feel like life is not worth living? or your family and friends would be better off without you? Do you feel like you are alone and no one understands you?
Everyone can feel low sometimes but when feeling low is starting to affect your everyday life, it can be very overwhelming and enjoyment from life can stop. You may find that although it doesn’t stop you from living your life, it does make life hard and worthless with the possibility of feeling suicidal. If you do have depression or are feeling low, it is important to remember that it can happen to anyone, whether your young, old, famous, non-famous, rich, poor, a woman or a man. Just about anyone can struggle with low moods and it can happen at any stage in your life.
Living with depression can be difficult, not only for the person suffering but also for those around them, especially as you may feel like no one understands you. For this reason alone, many people will wait a long time before seeking help for fear that they will be rejected, ridiculed or deprived of a sense of control. It is important that if you are struggling with your emotions and feel unable to cope you may benefit from seeking support as you are important and worthy.
How I Can Help You
Be U Counselling Service based in Poole, Dorset can help you to explore your feelings. Through counselling, you will have a safe space where you will not be judged and will be given the power to take control of your life. You will learn to confront the assumptions that you may have about your issues and you will question whether your thoughts are based on evidence. You will also learn to explore the worst case scenario and will learn to enable yourself to bring value to yourself.
I offer a 30 minute, no obligation session, where you can come and meet me, ask me questions or use it as a short counselling session to get a feel for what counselling is like and whether it is something that you want to commit to. This session will also give you an opportunity to discover if you feel comfortable working with me and are able to build a therapeutic relationship with me, which is very important for counselling to take place. If after the 30 minutes, you are happy and would like to commit to the counselling sessions, I will book you in for an assessment session where we will set out a therapeutic contract.
