Christmas music has been playing since the beginning of November and schools are preparing for nativity plays and shops have started selling Christmas items already. The holiday season is well on its way, and your mind gets filled with mince pies, presents and Christmas parties, so how do you stay productive during this holiday season?
There are a few strategies that you could put into place that could help you stay productive during this festive time.
1. A to-do list
Try and keep a list of all the things you need to do. This can help you to cut down a task rather than making it seem overwhelming and unbearable and as you complete each task, there will come a sense of accomplishment when you cross off each task that has been completed.
2. Become Accountable
Tell people what your plans are and the timescale that you plan to complete them in. This way people will expect results and probably ask you on a regular basis how far you have got in completing your task. To avoid embarrassment and disappointing your friends and your family you are more likely to stay focused and more productive.
3. Be Positive
When you have a lot to do, it is easy to get down about it which can impact on your productivity and stop you from enjoying life and the festive season. Therefore it is crucial to set targets and goals and concentrate on the positives in life. This will keep up your motivation and give you something to work towards and look forward to for the holidays.
4. Stick to a routine
The holidays are a time when routine goes out of the window and it is easy to go astray, therefore a routine can keep you focused and organised so you can work to your goals and set time frames over the festive period.
5. Choose an upbeat soundtrack
Pick a favourite song to get you in the mood for productivity. Play the song loud or just think of it in your head while you’re trying to complete your task. To add some festive cheer, why not try and listen to your favourite upbeat Christmas song.
6. Make it fun
After all it is Christmas and it is suppose to be fun, so try and make your workload enjoyable by being creative about it. Maybe have a dance around the kitchen while making the Christmas dinner, wear some silly hats while going Christmas shopping or even get the whole family involved by making wrapping paper.
7. Take care of yourself
The fundamental rule of being your most productive is taking care of yourself. A healthy mind and healthy body is the essence of a productive life. It is important that you eat well, drink well and sleep well for these are all the foundations of a healthy you.
