Toxic people you need to avoid

There are certain people in life that can be very toxic to your happiness and can have a negative impact on your life. Some of these are unaware of the negative impact that they have on your life, and others seem to derive great satisfaction from creating chaos and pushing your buttons. Learning who these toxic people are and learning how to avoid them can really help you have a much happier and fulfilling life. It is important to remember that a truly toxic person will never be worth your time and energy.
There are many types of toxic people.

Gossipers
This type of person like to talk about other people and loves to stir up conflict. A gossip is someone who will intentionally go out of their way to tear you down behind your back your back. These toxic types of people will pretend that they are your best friends to your face and then quite happily talk behind your back. The Gossip does this because it is entertaining, and it gives them power and attention. Most of the time they do not often realise that they are hurting people.

The Emotional Under-miner
This type of person is when a person invalidates your feelings and act like your problems do not matter. This may not seem like a big deal but when it happens over and over again, it makes inferior and guilty for having feelings that you should be allowed to feel and express. The message that they are conveying to you is that your emotions do not carry any weight and that your feelings do not matter. Some emotional Under-miners may even think they are better than you.

Self-Absorbed
This type of person is very Self-Absorbed. They tend to believe in “ME” and not “WE.” Whatever they do, think, or say is always surrounding them. It is necessary for everyone to care for themselves, but self-absorbed people go way beyond that, as they can be identified by toxic personality traits like caring only about one’s own self and activities. They do not show interest in the rest of the world. Their own emotions, feelings, actions, comfort, needs, etc. should always be prioritized. In the simplest terms they are selfish, egoist, self-centred and obnoxious.

The Victim
Victims can be tough to identify at first because you initially empathize with their problems. But as time passes, you begin to realize that their “time of need” is all the time. Victims actively push away any personal responsibility and ownership. They do not see tough times as opportunities to learn and grow from, instead they see them as an excuse. There is an old saying: “Pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional.” Here the victim will choose to suffer all the time.

The Judgmental
Judgmental people are quick to tell you exactly what is and is not right. They have a way making you feel terrible about the thing you are most passionate about. Judgmental people will look down on others, instead of appreciating differences and learning from others. Judgmental people can and will stifle your desire to be a passionate and meaningful person.

The Manipulator
These types of people can suck time and energy out of your life under the facade of friendship. They can be tricky to deal with because they treat you like a friend. They know what you like, what makes you happy, and what you think is funny, but the difference is that they use this information as part of a hidden agenda. Manipulators can be quite toxic as they always want something from you, and if you look back on your relationships with them, it’s all take, take, take, with little or no giving. They will do anything to win you over just so they can work you over.

The Envious
To envious people, the grass is always greener somewhere else. Even when something great happens to envious people, they do not derive any satisfaction from it. This is because they measure their fortune against the world’s when they should be deriving their satisfaction from within. And let’s face it, there’s always someone out there who’s doing better if you look hard enough. Spending too much time around envious people makes you trivialise your own accomplishments

The Temperamental
Some people have absolutely no control over their emotions. They will lash out at you and project their feelings onto you, all the while thinking that you are the one causing their discontent. Temperamental people are tough to dump from your life because their lack of control over their emotions and this can make you feel bad for them, but everyone needs to learn how to take ownership of their own control.
