Relationships are one of the most profound emotions known to a human being and bring us great happiness and fulfilment, whether it’s a friend, the person next door or a partnership. However, fulfilling and supportive relationships don’t come automatically as they require good social skills, a great deal of work, time and energy and sometimes even after our greatest efforts are most meaningful connections can break down leaving us feeling lonely, disappointed and unsure of ourselves. In the event of when children are involved, it can leave you feeling guilty and fearful about the effect it may have on them.
In other cases, our relationships may no longer be meeting the expectations which can impact on our happiness and satisfaction. For some, they may crave companionship yet find them very difficult to come by and find that it affects their self-esteem.
Other times you may have really low self-esteem thinking that you don’t deserve a relationship so you may choose the wrong partners or you may withdraw from society completely which may give you even lower self-esteem making you feel even more unhappy and unfulfilled.
How I can help
Relationship issues can vary considerably and the circumstances which have led to the problems can also vary. Here at counselling, I can assist you in resolving your relationship issues by exploring what things have gone and getting you to look at ways to resolve this. We work together in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment where you will be free to explore your thoughts and feelings, and also find solutions to your relationship problems so you can lead a happy life.
I offer a free 30 minute, no obligation session where you can come and meet me, ask me questions or use it as a short counselling session to get a feel for what to commit to. This session will give you the opportunity to discover if you feel comfortable working with me and are able to build a therapeutic relationship with me which is important for counselling to take place. If after the 30 minutes, you are happy and would like to continue the counselling sessions, I will book you in for an assessment session where we will set out a therapeutic contract.
