For more information, feel free to call me on 07402 251 230 or visit the counselling service page here which you can read at your own leisure
You can phone on 07402 251 230 or email me and I will be happy to discuss with you whether counselling is suitable for you.
You can also use the FREE, no obligation 30 minutes to explore how counselling works and assess if this is beneficial to you to continue with.
The number of sessions can differ from client to client. Since I work privately, you are not limited in the number of sessions you can have. All I ask of you is that when you do decide to cancel, is that you leave at least one session so that we can have a proper ending.
All counselling sessions are confidential with the exception that you are a danger to yourself or others but I will discuss this with you before breaking any confidentiality. To protect your identity further, all notes that are in the office are also coded.
An assessment session is a fact-finding session for me about your presenting issues and how you are dealing with the issues in your life. It will give me an idea of how you are managing and where you want to go as well as give you the opportunity to meet me and see if you feel comfortable with me. Within the assessment session, we will also fill out the therapeutic contract which states the terms and conditions of the therapy and storage of information.
If you decide to pursue counselling and are unable to attend I ask that you give at least 24 hrs notice. If 24hrs notice is not given then the session is payable to you and if three sessions are missed consecutively then counselling will be terminated.
Your counsellor will take the full payment at the end of each session, either in cash or by card. For telephone and Skype counselling sessions, the payment should be made via bank transfer the 24hrs prior to your appointment.
Due to counselling being a self-investment in the individual’s health, friends, family and colleagues can not refer individuals to counselling, they can only recommend. I am happy to receive details of individuals that may need counselling but this should only be done with the person’s full consent.
Complaints should be raised with me directly, as this way I may be able to solve the issue. If you are still not satisfied with the way your complaint has been dealt with, you can contact the BACP.
