In this blog post, I want to share with you my own experience but before I do I want to mention that I would love to hear some of my reader’s experiences also, so if you have an experience that you would like to share with me then please email them at ksthelen@beucounsellingservice.com
So as most of you know I went to St Lucia to attend a family member’s funeral. I didn’t have the chance to meet the family member in person but did have contact with them via phone and email. I felt silly being at a funeral for someone I didn’t really know but I went there to support my husband. As awkward as the day was for me I found the experience of the funeral and meeting new found family very inspiring. The funeral was a great reminder for all of us that attended, just how important life is and how quickly it can be taken from us. It reminded us all that life was short and sometimes we get so caught up in everyday life that we forget about what really is important until it’s too late.
Sometimes most of us, through no fault of our own get swept away with life and end up taking life for granted. The funeral was a harsh reminder that time and space are not ours to keep and it will keep moving even if you think you have plenty of time on this planet. The sun will rise and the sun will set each day and with this, in mind, it is so important to make the most in life, to achieve the goals you wish to achieve, to do the things you want to do, to brave the desires you have always had.
Ask yourself, are you existing or are you living? Have you become a slave to society? Are you living like a robot, living each day as the last day waiting for someone or something to change your life?
In that pursuit of happiness, no one has the power to search for what makes you happy but yourself. You have the power to go out and dance, sing, breathe, laugh, run, travel and anything else you wish to do. Don’t lose yourself to the social boundaries and limitations cause you might wake up one day and realise it is too late. Whether this life on a stopover, or whether it is the end, it doesn’t matter. Enjoy it while you can. Find your happiness and to be free.
“Sometimes when I meet old friends, it reminds me how quickly time passes. And it makes me wonder if we’ve utilized our time properly or not. Proper utilization of time is so important. While we have this body, and especially this amazing human brain, I think every minute is something precious. Our day-to-day existence is very much alive with hope, although there is no guarantee of our future. There is no guarantee that tomorrow at this time we will be here. But we are working for that purely on the basis of hope gutepotenz.de. So, we need to make the best use of our time. I believe that the proper utilization of time is this: if you can, serve other people, other sentient beings. If not, at least refrain from harming them. I think that is the whole basis of my philosophy.
So, let us reflect what is truly of value in life, what gives meaning to our lives, and set our priorities on the basis of that. The purpose of our life needs to be positive. We weren’t born with the purpose of causing trouble, harming others. For our life to be of value, I think we must develop basic good human qualities—warmth, kindness, compassion. Then our life becomes meaningful and more peaceful—happier.
